Frequently-Asked Questions

Here we provide answers to questions that are
regularly asked of the staff at Canyon Lake Marina
Campground.
Please direct any additional questions to the marina
and campground office.

Do you have
tables, grills, and fire rings?
Yes.
Each RV and Tent site includes a picnic table, grill, and a fire
ring. There are also picnic tables and grills
in the Ramada/Day Use Area. Please do not remove tables from
the ramada. Please don't put tables in the water.
How big are
the RV and tent sites?
RV
sites with water and electric are 20' wide and 40' long with a dirt
area of 20'x20'. Dry sites are 14' wide and 40' long with a
20'x20' dirt area. Tent sites are 20' wide and 20' +/- deep.
(All sizes are approximate. RV sites are marked with blue
markers. Tent sites are marked with green markers.)
Is firewood
available?
Firewood is available at the restaurant during regular hours
of operation.
Do you have a
camp store?
Yes. Lakeside Restaurant has a camp store that stocks limited
grocery and personal items. Grocery items available for
purchase include: canned beer and soda (okay on forest service land
--- no glass allowed), firewood, ice, charcoal, charcoal lighter
fluid, propane stove/lantern canisters, chips, snacks, cookies, "s'mores"
necessities (marshmallows, chocolate bars, graham crackers),
ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, paper plates, plastic cups and
dinnerware, and ice cream cones in eight flavors. Personal
care items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene
products.
Do you allow
pets?
Yes.
All pets must be on a six foot leash. Pet debris must be cleaned up and
disposed of in proper trash receptacles.
Can you pitch
your tent in the grass?
No.
In addition to other times, the sprinkler system for the grass area runs during the night.
Can you run a
generator?
Yes, until 10pm. If your RV's generator is noise suppressed
and runs very quietly, you may run it past 10pm (as long as it
doesn't generate a noise complaint).
Is swimming
allowed?
Yes.
There is a large, swimming-only area for your use. No boats or
jet skis are allowed in the swimming-only area. No fishing is
allowed in the swimming area. Swimming is
not allowed in the marina dock area.
Do you have
showers?
Yes.
The showers are located in the restrooms at the restaurant entrance.
What time is
quiet time?
Quiet
time is between 10pm and 8am. Please be considerate of your
neighbors.
Do you have a
boat launch area?
There is a three lane ramp located by the restaurant in the
gated area of the marina. Boaters must park in the parking lot
and go to the campground booth or the marina office for a permit.
When launching your own boat, your trailer must be parked in the
rear of the parking lot (see signs on fence) and detached from your
vehicle.
Can anybody
launch?
No. Campers staying with us may launch their boat and
bring it around to the shore of the campground (See
fee schedule).
People using the Day Use Area in the campground may launch only
during the week at the discretion of the marina management (See
fee schedule).
Can you tie
your boat to the shore?
No. Please use your own anchor and do not tie to our trees.

Be aware that the water level may fluctuate.
Boaters launching from other ramps must still pay day use fees if
beaching at Canyon Lake Marina Campground.
Can you park
in the parking lot and walk into the campground/day use area?
No. Walk-ins are not allowed. You may not park your car
in the lot and get into another vehicle to enter the campground/day
use area, or leave the property.
Do you have to
pay to park in the parking lot?
No, BUT you must be a client of Canyon Lake Marina, Precision
Marine, Canyon Lake Marina Campground, Lakeside Restaurant, or Dolly
Steamboat; or be hiking the Boulder Canyon trail.

Visitors hiking the Boulder Canyon Trail #103 may park in the
designated area of our parking lot on the fence-line by the
highway.

Boat trailers are to be parked in the East side of the
parking lot along the fence-line (rear end - see signs on fence
for designated area)
and detached from the vehicle. Boat trailers are not permitted
in the campground area.

Buses may drop off passengers in front of the restaurant,
then they must park as far back in the lot as possible.
What type of
payments do you accept?
Canyon Lake Marina and Campground accepts cash in addition to Visa,
MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Campground? |
There is always a campground attendant on duty at the
campground booth, or at the Marina and Campground Office.
The campground is closed for admittance at 9:30pm without
prior reservations. (Only RVs may come in after 9:30pm
without reservations)

Restaurant? |
Lakeside Restaurant & Cantina serves lunch 7 days a week,
breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. For specific hours of operation,
please
visit their website.

Dolly Steamboat? |
The Dolly Steamboat leaves the pier daily, rain or shine, at
12pm (and 2pm by reservation only) for 90 minute "Nature
Cruises." Additional cruise times are available and
special cruises can be arranged. For more information,

May through Labor Day: 8am - 6pm

What type of
gas is available at the fuel dock?
87 Octane marine fuel
Do cell phones
work at Canyon Lake?
Most cell phone coverage ends in the area of the Dash-In
convenience store and the Goldfield Ghost Town. There are pay
phones available at the Dash-In convenience store.
Is Internet
access available in the campground?
No.
What are the
future plans for the campground?
Laundry facilities are planned for the future, as well as pull-thru
RV sites.
What is the
lake level?
You
can view the
current lake level report at the AZ Game & Fish website.
How is the
fishing at the lake?
Canyon Lake contains walleye, largemouth bass, yellow bass, rainbow
trout, bluegill, channel catfish and crappie.

Fishing is not allowed in the restaurant/tour boat dock area.
Fishing in the marina dock area is limited to marina members.
